Amprius Lagar’s Garnacha 2015, the winery of Térvalis Group, is again in luck. This time it was awarded the Bacchus de Oro medal, a distinction awarded at the 16th Bacchus International Wine Competition 2018, the only one in Spain recognized by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV).
More than 1,500 wines from around the world were presented to this edition that took place last March in Madrid and from which the results are now officially known. In total more than a hundred tasters including Masters of Wine, prescribers, journalists, Masters of Sommelier and winemakers have formed the roster of national and international professional judges of first level. Thanks to this, independence and experience are guaranteed in this competition and endorse the Bacchus medals.
“We are very proud to receive this Gold Medal, as soon as we heard the news we were very happy,” says Miguel Peña, Commercial and Marketing Director of Amprius Lagar. The prestige of this contest and its impartial blind tasting gives these wines an added value of international recognition. This moved to the market becomes “a further support to defend the quality of the wines of Amprius Lagar,” says Peña. Especially the turolense winery red was awarded for its good scores in terms of sight (clarity and positive appearance) and harmony (outstanding). A rising medal table
With this one are already five distinctive that has obtained this monovarietal variety of Amprius Lagar in different vintages of national and international levels. Barely a month ago he received another gold in the German Mundus Vini Competition. In addition, it has 90 Parker points, one of the best news that a wine can receive today in the world, as this score is decided by the team of the influential American wine critic Robert Parker. In October of last year he also won the Silver Medal in the Supremum Wine Competition and in 2015, the Silver Diploma in the International Wine Guide Awards.
This medal is another example of the good state of health that the winery currently enjoys. All the distinctions suppose a recognition to the good work and the effort of a human team that works to continue elaborating better and better wines and to place to the region of the Matarraña in the world-wide viticultural map. Your 2015 Gewürztraminer received the Silver Bacchus Medal. Likewise, and in the same way that the Garnacha, its Gewürztraminer 2013 and the Chardonnay 2014 were presented with the silver diploma in the International Wine Guide Awards. The winery, of the group Térvalis, is located in the Region of Matarraña, in the farms known as Mas d’en Roch and Mas d’en Jerra in the terms of Calaceite and Arens de Lledó, has capacity for the production of up to 200,000 bottles of wine of the varieties: Chardonnay, Garnacha, Syrah and Gewürztraminer.
Bacchus is the only international wine competition in Spain that currently belongs to VINOFED, the federation that integrates the most prestigious competitions worldwide. To this is added the fact of being recognized by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA) of Spain.
