Lagar d'amprius

Kolenda 2016

Lagar d'Amprius Kolenda is a very special wine and it's one of two wines that complete the 'Buñuel's Wine" edition. It has been designed to pay homage to Calanda (Teruel, Aragon, Spain), the town where our most universal filmmaker was born: Luis Buñuel. Kolenda is the name of the Celtiberian town that existed in this area centuries ago. This special wine pays homage to the noble and clean and innovative spirit from Calanda.

This beautiful bottle that alludes to the Drum and Bombo Route, a tradition deeply rooted in Bajo Aragón (south of Zaragoza), contains the Gewürztraminer variety, unique and special wine, maintaining the typicality of the variety but at the same time showing its Mediterranean character. An original wine with which you will guess and surprise, for its design and its flavour.

Product Description

Lagar d’Amprius Kolenda 2018 is Gewürztraminer 100%. Four-years-old vineyards are specially treated in order to obtain a high-quality fruit. An extremely limited production of 1,5 kg per vine.

The harvest is always done at night, trying to pick the grapes at the lowest possible temperature. This is a wine that has a positive evolution in bottle for at least 2-3 years.

Briliant golden yellow white wine. On the nose it is clean and it has a medium-high intensity. While young, this wine reflects fresh aromas of lychee, grape and pear, and also strong floral aromas, especially of rose and acacia, very typical of this variety. By time, we can also appreciate some hints of peach and banana, as well as aromas of green olives and rosemary. It is a very spicy wine, reminding white pepper, cardamom and cumin. A complex and well balanced wine, with medium acidity. Long aftertaste with a touch of bitterness at the end, reflecting the purity of this variety.

Excellent to pair with grilled, sauteed and backed vegetables. Also with grilled or barbecued white fish, cod, sole or monkfish, and it is very original with spicy white meat as chicken in curry or honey roasted lamb.

Best served at 8-10ºC in a high and wide bass glass.
