Lagar d’Amprius has just entered the Spanish Wine Guide ¨Sin Mala Uva¨ 2018 thanks to the good score obtained by its wines during the tastings made by the team of tasters of this accessible “wine bible”, suitable for all audiences.
Written by the wine and food journalist Ernesto Gallud, the ‘Sin Mala Uva’ Guide is the first one focused solely on single-varietal wines from Spain. In addition, it teaches how to enjoy them, spreading the wine culture to a general audience with a fresh approach.
More than 2,000 wines have been tasted in more than 40 sessions, in which more than 30 specialists have accompanied Gallud to select wines with more than 85 points, including those of Lagar d’Amprius.
In particular the Lagar d’Amprius Gewürztraminer has obtained 90 points, the Garnacha, 89 and finally, the Chardonnay, 86 points. These good scores place the wines from the winery of Calaceite in a very good position and have led them to be part of the new edition of this Wine Guide.
Pedro Casas, manager of Amprius Lagar, is very pleased with this news. “To appear in this Guide, the second most important in the country, with three of our wines, is a great leap for us and the good scores obtained show the recognition of an intense and professional work developed over ten years showing the Matarraña as an area with potential for production of great and unique wines.¨
This new milestone is added to the collection of small great steps that the Turolense winery has been giving in recent times. The Gewürztraminer 2015, – the best punctuated by the Guide Sin Mala Uva – has also received the Bacchus Silver medal this year. A few months ago Garnacha 2014 received 90 points by Robert Parker. Also to add the silver medal at the International Wine Guide Awards for Gewürztraminer 2013 and Chardonnay 2014.
