Once again, Lagar d’Amprius Garnacha, the Térvalis Group’s winery and the author of ‘Teruel’s Wine’, has conquered the most exquisite palates of wine’s sector. From today, it has one more medal on its list: the Mundus Vini’s Gold Medal. This wine has been awarded the Gold Medal the spring tasting of the Prestigious International Competition ‘MUNDUS VINI’ of Germany. The award ceremony will take place at the International ProWein Fair in Düsseldorf, which takes place from 18th to 20th of March.
“This medal, added to others recognitions achieved recently, such as the prestigious score of 90 Parker points, place the winery of Lagar d’Amprius as one of the best wineries with better quality not only nationally but also internationally “, tells Miguel Peña, Sales and Marketing Manager of Lagar d’Amprius.
Over six days, around 270 experts from 44 countries were able to taste wines from more than 150 vine-producing regions of the world, valuing and rewarding them with the coveted MUNDUS VINI Prize medals, in an edition that has achieved a record of participation in the tasting.
Specially, the wine from the Teruel’s winery was awarded for its balance in different aspects. Above all, the contest’s jury emphasized its visual aspect, its intensity, its quality and its fruity character where the essence of berries and fruits of the forest has quite a leading role. As for the general impression, he obtained high scores in harmony, body, complexity and strength.
Because of this award, Lagar d’Amprius Garnacha and the other winners of the MUNDUS VINI spring tasting will be presented to the specialized public in the world’s largest wine fair, ProWein, held in Düsseldorf from 18th to 20th of March, 2018, in the tasting area of MUNDUS VINI. Medals to the effort of a great team
This monovarietal variety of Lagar d’Amprius has been awarded in different vintages with three more distinctives in national and international level. The most recent and remarkable, the 90 points Parker, one of the best news that a wine can receive today in the world, as this score is decided by the team of the influential American wine critic Robert Parker. Last October this win also won the Silver Medal in the Supremum Wine Competition and in 2015, the Silver Certificate in the International Wine Guide Awards.
The winery is going through a great time and the reception of these awards is a recognition of the good work and effort of a team that works every day with care and passion. 2015 Gewürztraminer received also the Silver Bacchus Medal. Likewise, as the Garnacha did, its Gewürztraminer 2013 and its Chardonnay 2014 were awarded with the Silver Certificate in the International Wine Guide Awards.
The winery, of Térvalis Group, is located in Matarraña (Bajo Aragón Region), in the farms known as Mas d’en Roch and Mas d’en Jerra in the terms of Calaceite and Arens de Lledó, and it has capacity to produce between 100,000 and 125,000 bottles of wine of the varieties: Chardonnay, Garnacha, Syrah and Gewürztraminer.
